The Tourism and Guiding (TG) course at Audrey Veldman Vocational Training Centre is designed to equip students with practical skills and professional knowledge required in the tourism and hospitality industry. The course focuses on tour guiding techniques, customer care services, communication skills, and the interpretation of cultural, historical, and natural tourist attractions.
Students gain hands-on experience through practical guiding activities, field visits, and real-life tourism simulations while learning safety procedures, ethical conduct, and proper handling of tourists. This course prepares students for employment in tourism companies, travel agencies, hotels, national parks, and cultural heritage sites, and also enables them to start their own tourism-related businesses.
In the Tourism and Guiding course, students will learn how to guide tourists effectively, communicate clearly, and provide accurate information about attractions. They will also study customer care services, tour planning, and the management of tourism activities. Learners will develop skills in interpreting cultural and natural sites, handling visitors, and solving basic challenges in tourism services.
Students benefit from practical training, field trips, and experienced instructors who guide them through real tourism environments. The centre emphasizes intensive practical sessions to ensure learners gain confidence, professionalism, and competence in tour guiding and tourism operations.
