The Welding and Metal Fabrication course at Audrey Veldman Vocational Training Centre is designed to equip students with practical skills and technical knowledge required in metal work and fabrication industries. The course focuses on welding techniques, metal cutting, shaping, and assembling different metal structures used in construction and manufacturing.
Students gain hands-on experience in using welding machines, tools, and equipment while learning safety procedures and proper handling of materials. This course prepares students for employment in workshops, industries, construction sectors, and also enables them to start their own welding and fabrication businesses.
In the Welding and Metal Fabrication course, students will learn various welding techniques including arc welding and gas welding, metal cutting and shaping, reading and interpreting simple technical drawings, and assembling metal components. Learners will also gain skills in measuring, marking, and finishing metal works to meet required standards.
Students benefit from a well-equipped workshop with modern welding machines, tools, and sufficient working space. The centre provides enough equipment and materials to support all learners during training. Emphasis is placed on intensive practical sessions to ensure students gain real experience and become competent, skilled, and confident in welding and fabrication work.
